Making Time For Each Other

There needs to be time for some fun.
With each other.

The Holy Bible says "a time to laugh and a time to weep."

Yes, there'll be plenty of times when things are tough...that's part of living.

Those times you share with each other when you laugh together are precious.

They turn us into more understanding people. Without any humour  life would lack colour. Doctors tell us that a good laugh releases endorphins which give us a sense of well-being. We all need a good dose of that, preferably every day. A good hug and a kiss do the same for us. It tells the other person you care enough to enjoy their company and a little lighthearted fun goes a long way to draw you closer together.

So, no matter what life throws your way, ask the Lord to help you take one day at a time as Jesus advised, and look for ways to find that hidden laughter deep inside.

That's all I have to say. May God touch your heart and lighten your load and teach you to smile today.

RECIPE for HAPPINESS

In our local paper I read about a couple who had been married for many years and had just celebrated their wedding anniversary.

Mr Leo Antich had some advice for young couples. He said, The key to a successful relationship is to understand each other and be able to compromise.

That sounded like some very wise words. In my kitchen I have a plaque with similar thoughts and I'd like to share it with you:

 RECIPE  FOR  HAPPINESS

Two heaping cups of Patience,  One heartful of Love, Two handfuls of Generosity,

One headful of Understanding , and a dash of Humour.

Sprinkle with Kindness, Add plenty of Faith and mix well.

Spread over a Period of a Lifetime and serve to everyone you meet.

I'd like to add this saying: A married relationship can be like a triangle. The two base points are man and wife, with God at the top. The closer each comes to God the closer they come to each other.

Maybe Not Quite Normal

Sharon Hincke shares:
"My favorite college theatre role was in an opening monologue where the character prays, “Please,
God, please. Don’t let me be normal.”
I think God answered my prayer…

"I fell in love with my husband Ted when he threw seaweed at me during a class picnic when I was fourteen. While Ted and I were in grad school,
our car was shot at (we weren’t in it at the time).

"During the rehearsal for an outdoor production of
West Side Story that I was choreographing, the
police barreled into the parking lot responding to
a call from neighbors that gangs were fighting.
I told the dancers to drop their chains and knives
and start singing. None of us were arrested!"

Sharon’s undergrad degree is in education, and she earned an M.A. in Communication from Regent University in 1986. She spent ten years as the artistic director of a Christian performing arts group, CrossCurrent. That ministry included three short-term mission trips to Hong Kong. She has been a church youth worker, a choreographer and ballet teacher, a home-school mom, a church organist, and a bookstore clerk. One day she’ll figure out what to be when she grows up, but in the meantime she’s pouring her imagination into writing. She’s published dozens of articles in magazines and book compilations, and released her first novel in 2006. In April, 2007, she was named “Writer of the Year” at Mount Hermon Christian Writers Conference.

Sharon writes “stories for the hero in all of us,” about ordinary people experiencing God’s grace in unexpected ways. Known for their authenticity, emotional range, and spiritual depth, her novels include
contemporary fiction such as The Secret Life of Becky Miller, Stepping into Sunlight and TheRestorer’s Son–Expanded Edition.

I love Sharon's dry sense of humour. This is one lady with real depth and we're sure to hear of many more of her stories being published.

Thanks for sharing with us Sharon. We wish you God's richest blessings.
