HE is THERE

This true story might give you some idea of why Jesus died for us....

Susan was rendered sightless due to a medical mistake. Once a fiercely independent woman, Susan lapsed into a deep depression, hating the fact she was now powerless and a burden on those around her.

Her husband, Mark, an Air Force officer, loved her with all his heart. He remembered his once optimistic wife and was determined to help her gain her confidence and independence again. His disciplined background convinced him that to accomplish this sensitive situation would be the most difficult battle he would ever face.

When she felt she was ready to return to work he drove her there every day on the opposite side of the city where he worked. And he also picked her up afterward. They both realized this was hectic and very costly. He knew he must prepare her to take the bus as she had previously. But Susan reacted bitterly. "I'm blind. How am I supposed to know where I am going? I feel you're abandoning me. This broke his heart.

Mark knew what he would do. He promised her he would ride the bus with her and help her adapt to the new environment. He promised he would do this morning and evening until she felt she could handle it herself. For two weeks Mark did this in full uniform. He taught her how to rely on her senses and befriend the bus drivers so they would save a seat for her. He believed in her and knew she would not give up her struggle.

The day came when her eyes filled with tears of gratitude for his love, his loyalty and his patience. She was ready. She rode the bus successfully for a week. One day the bus driver said to her, "I sure envy you." She asked him what he meant. He answered, "It must feel so good to be taken care of and protected the way you are." She was puzzled until he added, "Every morning for the past week a fine looking man in a uniform has been standing across the street watching when you get off the bus. He makes sure you cross the road safely. He watches until you enter the building. Then he blows you a kiss, gives a salute, and walks away."

Tears of happiness rolled down her cheeks. For although she couldn't see him, she had always felt his presence. He had given her a gift far more precious than sight. She didn't need to see to believe - a gift of love that can bring light when there had been darkness.

I know someone who is always there helping those He loves. His name is Jesus. He shines His light into our darkness. He tells us "I will never leave you, or forsake you."

God Introduced Them

Nadege and Joshua still can't figure out how God "accidently" introduced them.

Nadege is a French girl who spent four years in London then returned home. But with her drinking problem she decided to return to writing to help her out of ever the present loneliness and depression. In researching names for her characters she came across "Joshua" and found its meaning. Salvation.

One lunch hour before her computer, a singles meeting app popped up. She says she was over looking for a boyfriend at that stage because most guys had let her down. But the name of the person was ...Joshua. She smiled. Curious, she looked him up and discovered he lived in the US! That puzzled her because she was only registered in Paris.

However, Nadege sent him a basic message like "How is it in California?" Later on he answered and then they sent daily messages to each other. But when he told about his family etc, she doubted it could be true and thought maybe one of her friends was joking with her. But then through their continuing friendship on Skype she realized he was genuine.

Joshua shared with her that he was 'born again'. She didn't know what that meant because she was raised as a Catholic. They began reading the Bible together and he explained that Jesus was the living Lord who died for us, taking the penalty for our sins. And that we needed to have a personal belief in Him and accept Him as Lord of our life. Nadege saw her need of a Savior and committed her life to Jesus. Joshua asked her to marry him and they were married in Paris.

Now five years later and living in America, Nadege adds, "God has blessed us with three amazing children and we both, in the short time we were married, have gone through trials and hard times, but also amazing moments, and I know that if it wasn't for Jesus being the anchor of our lives and marriage, we might have given up on each other, but we never did and never will. Our Christian faith has made us stronger."

Thanks for sharing your amazing story with us Nadege.

MIRACLE in MOTION

Nick Vujicic was born with no arms and legs. Yet he placed a ring on his bride's finger while she in turn placed a ring-bearing necklace around his neck.

Committed to being a devoted husband, the 29-year-old limbless preacher hoped to do all he could to be a blessing to Miyahara, who he believes is the greatest gift "after life, salvation, and a relationship with God."

Born with Tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by the absence of all four limbs, Vujicic does not let his disability overtake his life, having learned how to write, use the computer, play tennis, drive, beat a drum, pen an autobiography, start his own nonprofit foundation, and even surf.

At every speaking engagement, he has been vocal about God's vital role in shaping and renewing his life, which was once full of depression and bitterness. "I found the purpose of my existence and also the purpose of my circumstance," he revealed. "There's a purpose for why you're in the fire."

Through his faith in God, whom he credits for turning his life around and giving him hope, Vujicic has touched millions of lives with his testimony, encouraging those who are broken and weak to trust in the Lord for provision and freedom.

"It's not about the outside. It is about being complete on the inside," he shared at a previous event in Seattle. "Because I have seen so many people complete on the outside but who don't know the truth. It is the truth that sets you free and who the son sets free is free indeed."

Just before he left on his honeymoon, he tweeted a message of praise to God, saying, "Here we go –WOO HOO! God is AWESOME!"
